GROUP PANEL

Women's Woven Voices has reached its goal of gathering over 1,000 woven story cloths  from around the globe.

. . . creating roughly 42 panels reaching over 160 feet long!

A new chapter is unfolding and the focus is now on sharing this amazing art piece with its powerful message of creativity, community, and compassion. While the original tapestry will be exhibited, starting first with the 2022 the Handweavers Guild of America international conference, Convergence, photos of new story cloths will be shared in the Global Tapestry Gallery.

Add to the Global Tapestry Gallery Page

You and your group can continue to contribute to the project by create your own Women’s Woven Voices story cloth or panel and submitting your photos of them to be included in the website's Global Tapestry Gallery page.

So Much Gratitude!

1,000 Story Cloths Completed

Step 1.

Tuck in the Ends -

Once you've gathered your group's finished woven story cloths the first step to creating a panel to display in your community is tucking in the ends. It's supper easy!

YOU WILL NEED - Scissors, & a Tapestry Needle

Step 2.

Stitch the Panel Together -

Next you stitch the  story cloths into a cohesive tapestry panel of up to roughly 25 woven strips, joining your individual voices together!

YOU WILL NEED - Strong String, Scissors, & a Tapestry Needle

Step 3.

Crochet a Hanging Sleeve -

Once you have your groups completed panel you can add a crocheted sleeve on the top as a way to display the finished tapestry. However, if crochet isn't for you, feel free to find a way to display the finished tapestry that works for your group and your show space.

YOU WILL NEED - Red String, Scissors, & a Medium Sized Cochet Hook

Step 4.

Add the Red Fringe -

When you've finished crocheting a sleeve to hang your group's tapestry panel the last step is to add the red fringe. Hopefully this visually stunning addition will become a talking point centered on solutions for many women facing abuse.

YOU WILL NEED - Red String, Scissors, & a Medium Sized Crochet Hook

Your voices deserve to be HEARD,

& your newly completed tapestry should be SEEN!

Please share your weaving(s) on your social media, as well as the Women's Woven Voices Facebook page & Instagram.
